What I should be doing.......

A friend of mine does patterns for quilts and she has people she knows help her out in the making process -- and proof reading. Like we have to read too????? Anyways........ I have helped in two of the four books so far (Konda Luckau -- Moose on the Porch is her business name, Moosequilts.com and Moosequilts.blogspot.com for the fun stuff) back to the story, her new book has APPLIQUE in it. I am so not a fan. So as you can imagine, I wasn't willing to help out to quick with this book. I have soooo many other things that I NEED to do and a gazillion times more of things that I would like to do. Time goes by and she came into the store with her folder, this was after the Bryce Retreat and she had one more that needed to be done. I asked to see it and read the directions for the most part -- I know no one will ever believe this of me, but I caved like a big ole sink hole. Asked her what she had in mind for flavors of fabric and she told me "GOOD FUN FABRIC" :) lol She picked out fabric and I brought it home. Keep in mind that I have the blue and white quilt to finish so that it can be displayed, the kits and sample for my Holy Stitches group need to be done and of course there is Thimbleberries. Then theres the star blocks - 22 of them with the companion "stripe" blocks, 22 of these also to be done here shortly. And just for grins can I substitute teach for the class next saturday??? -- and these are just the TOP 5!

I finally got the blue and white top and back done and sent off to the quilters without taking a picture. Sorry. Ironed all the fabric for the saturday class, Kondas project, the stars and stripes and a scrap project that will be for the store. Class sample made and taught. Thimbleberries will just have to wait just a little longer. In the meantime, I have added a quilt to bind for the store in the midst of all of this. Konda keeps coming into the store for some small reason or another. I think she is just checking up on me! However, she is seeing the progress that I am making. All the squares are cut, leaves are done. I just need to do the "vrrt" sound affect there cutting of the dark pink fabrics and to cut the yellow circles. Then we get talking "BLOG"! I made some smartalic comment about going home and checking out the new blogs and putting all of my sewing on hold. She had the gall to tell me - like I was a bad child- that I couldn't check them out UNTIL I have her top done!!!!! (said with a smile) Can you believe it???? After all, she does have a dead line coming up soon. So after work, I was a good doobee and went home and finished cutting the "vrrtt's" and the circles for hers and all the pieces for my stars, dinner, kids in bed and asleep and the sand man starts to talk to me. Not much sewing gonna get done -- okay none at all last night.

Today I wake up, timechange, church, brain pain -- I could sew on all these things -- but that would be WORK! and on the Lord's day?? I think not -- especially when the lesson in church was to not "work" on the sabbath and see all the things that get accomplished and how much happier you are and the precious time spent with your kids making memories with them when you keep his commandments. Guess I had better learn that lesson and quick! (didn't do well with the first 2 children, maybe I can due better with the last 2) So NO SEWING!!! :( (and yes this just about killed me!) So does that mean I can BLOG??? ;) YESSSSS!!!!
In other words, I will get ALL of the 22 stars and 22 stripe blocks done for this friday, my sample and 15 kits will be done for tuesday night for my Holy Stitches group, the binding will be sewn on by machine, Thimbleberries will be worked on AND Kondas top will get finished! Just have to have faith!

Does anyone ever wonder why I am "Oh Sew Crazee"?? You should see my sewing room.....then theres the fabric room..................
