THE Concert

THE BEGINNING!

Yeah I went to the TRACE and toby concert! It was GREAT FUN!

Even this far away, Trace is freakishly tall.

Good times were had by all. Krystal and Amanda go extremely early so that they can get the good grass seats. I think that the sun gets to Krystal -- you will understand in a moment......

Here we are with my good friend (sister) Machelle. We spend alot of time together and so to make it easier we tried nicknames -- well we have ALOT of the same ones. We just decided to go by chl for both of us. It works.

Both gals are BLONDES!!!! Boy did they ever get into shakin their badonadonks!!!!

The Sun has finally gotten to her!?!?!?!?!?!?!

THE END! ;( sad times. It is over. Surely they both could have sang for another hour or so easily...

Cover

This is one of many projects that I have been trying to work on with everything else that needs to be done in my life. I am so excited that this quilt turned out really well - in every way shape and form! Being on the front cover doesn't hurt any either. I can't wait till the end of Sept when the books will be out for purchase. There are some really "FUN" ones in it. ohhlala

Off to work on Marie Antoinette........

Softball Games

Wayne LOVES Softball!!! He is currently playing two nights a week, two games per night. Occasionally -- I will go and drag the kids with me. This is how interested Ky is ..........................

AJ acts like the well behaved child that he is -------- NOT!!!!
The HILITE of the game was when said well behave child apparently needs to go to the bathroom. He drops his drawers and whips it out and sends out a pretty good stream right out there in the wide open public park area!!!! Makes a mom so proud!!! Apparently the weed was thirsty! :p~~~

I thought that the 6-8 players that were walking with Wayne and I were going to wet themselves also because there were laughin so hard. What a site that would have been. :D lol

Family Craziness

We just had our county fair. I help, volunteer with the horse shows. One of the shows is an Open Invitation for the more MATURE people! I can't believe Janet's horses let her do this to them.

Our resident Rodeo Bull Clown.

The Back side was pretty dang Great!

They both won 1ST overall!!!! However, she is starting to get a reputation on her costumes.... What will she come up with next year????

First Week of School

I can't believe that it's school time already -- And I have a Jr. High student.?.?.? AGAIN! There was some major nerves going on, both with her and me. She is still petite and different personality that I have different worries for her. My older children I didn't worry as badly with them going to Jr High as I did with Ky. She was struggling pretty badly with the combo on her locker. It was almost comical. She is 12 and still has issues with rights and lefts???? Whats up with that? There ended up being a bus stop issue on the first day, but that has since been taken care of. It would have been nice to know that the stop had been moved!!!

Here is Ky on her First day of 7th grade. So CUTE! At her school, they have the 7th graders go a day earlier for half a day so that they can get a grip on how it is all going to go. Finding classes, going to their lockers, making it to their next class and going to their locker and so on. There were older kids there throughout the halls to help out in any way -- which was great! She even got on the RIGHT bus ok and made it home!!!! Life is Good!

She had the next day off. Here she is on her First FULL day of school with ALL of the 8th and 9th graders! SCARY! We both survived though! WHEW! Her with her 3 loves : Horses, Pink and Cupcakes! Who else do you know that could pull that off? :)

Children

Finally after the doc gets back from vacation, we have news!!

Kylee is semi-good news. It's a hurry up wait and see what happens routine. Her curve is only a 7% curve, so technically it isn't scoliosis. Just take another xray in a year and see what has developed. YIPEE!!

Austin, well, the doc still feels like he will grow out of this seizure stage within the next couple of years. However, if he keeps having them, to let him know. If by chance he has any WITHOUT a fever, then that is something entirely different.

I love living on pins and needles like this.

In the meantime, I have ALOT of sewing to get caught up on. Unfortunately, my little photographer has put my camera in a really safe place and I haven't been able to find it yet. So you all will just have to trust me on all that I talk about. Hopefully the camera will be found soon and I can take pics to show you.

I have done another quilt top for Konda Luckau for her new book. It is soooo cute!!! It is made with charm squares - of course - and it is FISH! of all things -- done in batiks! WOW! comes to mind. Konda hurried and quilted it so now I have to trim and bind it. I have a week while she is on vacation.

I have been talking with another designer about sewing up some samples for her, but she lives 3 towns away...............We will see. Hopefully. Eventually.......

In the meantime, I have been sewing up a large amount of blocks for a round robin (block exchange) that need to be done in the next couple of days, getting kits and directions ready for my Holy Stitches group, working on Marie Antoinette and Thimbleberries for the store and having a couple (or 4) of 4H horse shows in the middle of all of my madness. OH and one of the most important things that happened -- KY had a birthday! WOW! she is 12 and going to be in JrHi! She is just to little to be that old!

Fabulous Summer continues

I take the kids in for a routine checkup. They haven't been for awhile. Hindsight, I should have canceled their appointments!

Kylee goes first. Everything is fine UNTIL she bends over and the doc checks out her back. The spine in doing a unique thing -- it's curving! We talk discuss and off to the hospital to get an xray to see how bad it really is. Then we will talk and discuss some more.

Austins turn. Everything is fine with him, just a little under developed mentally is all. No big deal. We talked about his partial seizure last August and how we were recently out in the sun a week ago and he has been acting a little different. The Doc has this look on his face that says "Well let me see, Where's my crystal ball to look back in time to see what you are talking about so I know how to help you out." Obviously, no real satisfying results came to mind, other than keep a journal and he will more than likely grow out of them -- unless they happen again and frequently. DUH! In comes the nurse after he leaves both kids get shot and home we go.

I break the wonderful news to dear ole dad, leave Austin Man home and Ky and myself head up to the hospital that is a half an hour away to go get her xray. We can't go the the hospital that is just down the street --- blooming insurance, but atleast we have insurance, so who am I to be complaining???? The day wears on, mundane things happened and the children are feeling the pain. We eat dinner, dope them up with drugs and off to a nice warm sho-bath for them before bed. Austin is still a little warm when he goes to bed -- keep this in mind.

Sometime during the weeee hours of the morning, Austin comes into our bed and lays down with us. We were both to tired to kick him out and send him back to his own bed. At about 5:30 am Austin screams (like he is having a nightmare), we both try and comfort him and to wake him up because he is groaning and shaking. Lo-n-behold it wasn't just a really bad dream. It was a living nightmare. He went into full seizure mode. Shaking, locked jaw, turning blue -- the whole bit. YUP! Both us panicked just a wee bit. OK ALOT! It lasted a couple of minutes (a life time for us) and then he was unresponsive and dripping wet, both in sweat and urine. I quickly changed him and threw some more appropriate clothes on, other than my summer nightie and off to the hospital we go. Yeah remember that our covered hospital is 30 minutes away and the freeway was closed in two different spots before the exit that we needed to get off at. We went to the one just down the road. Can't wait for that bill!

It took a good 30-40 minutes before he finally responded to any one about any thing. That in itself is just as bad. After a couple of hours, several tests some good drugs we are sent home with the outcome, he has "febrile" seizures and should out grow them by the age of six. It's gonna be a long year and half! For those that don't know, they are seizures brought on by a rapid rise in temperature; however, a seizure can be the first sign of a high temp. The next 24 - 48 hours are the most critical. Can you say OVER PROTECTIVE MOM alert?!?!?! I can honestly say, I hope and pray that I never have to go through that again with my child! I have since talked, actually both Wayne and I have talked with other people that have/had live/d with one of their children and seizures. I don't know about Wayne, but I think I will be able to handle the situation much better. WHEW~! Oh and Praying hasn't hurt either.

We let Austin sleep with us the following night -- just in case. I had gotten out of bed before either boy woke up. Austin wakes up and screams! Wayne instantly wakes up looks over at Austin and there he lays with a big smile on his face telling Wayne "Gotcha"!! Yes they are both still alive! ;-p lol Guess he is on the slow road to feeling better.

Stay tuned for the continuing saga of Ky and her curvy back.

Teach an old dog......

So I have known about the grocery smarts list for a long time now but really haven't done anything with it. Well those that know me, know that I am so below dirt rotten poor it's redickulous!!! I also have a peev with newspapers!!! AGH!! So what did I do??? I went to a "Grocery Smart" class where they teach you how to use their website and heaven forbid -- COUPONS! And what is one of their little tricks? OH YEAH! NEWSPAPERS!!! And not just one copy, they order several copies on sunday to get many coupons! HOLY COW!

After hearing the spiel and talking to several different people that have nothing in common, I guess I will have to try this out. It cant hurt. For those that are interested and haven't started yet go to www.grocerysmarts.com and your passport # is g84cjk.

There is also a blogspot that will help out too. sheshopssmart.blogspot.com I think that I might be able to do this... Did I just say that out loud and in print?????

Wish me LUCK!!!

The Beginning to a BEAUTIFUL Summer!!!!

The summer started out pretty good for my little Ky -- while it lasted!

She is now in a cast.

What??

How???

She was going down an enclosed spiral tube slide and where the pieces get put together, there is a place big enough to catch toes. Yeah OWWW!!! Well I wasn't too worried for several days -- broken toes, no big deal. Tape them up and wrap the foot to help protect it for a few days. Swollen and some beautiful color and keep the foot up and ice occasionally, I really am good with this. There isn't alot else that can be done differently for broken toes. It's shower time so I take the tape off, the swelling has gone down some and the color is up into her foot. hmmmm does it hurt here???? When she comes down off of the ceiling and can breathe again, I guess its off to the doctors office for an xray for her.
Ok the bad news is, we/the kids, ride horses ALOT during the summer - 4h don't cha know --
The doc comes back in the room and looks at the xray and says "well there's good news bad news. Hope you like boots?.?."
Can you make it in the shape of a cowboy boot??
The good news is that there is no obvious break or fracture. However, there are some lines that he isn't too sure about by the growth plates, and there is alot of fluid around the couple of toes that shouldn't be there. That means that something is not quite right and that it is more than just a sprain. So that means a Walking Cast! for a MONTH! The even better news is, she can take off her walking cast and put on her cowboy boots for riding only, well and showers. That news made her smile. If she couldn't ride her horse (aunt janets horse) I would probably have to have her medicated!!!!!!

Still binding, binding binding

Well, remember all of the quilts that I had quilted and they all need binding sewn on, well I am STILL doing them! It's a never ending CHORE for me. It can put me right to sleep! and I won't even mention the whole butt numbing process......

However, I HAD to take a break and put this quilt top together. I started it 3 years ago! I know, shameful! I have had the blocks all made for quite some time -- just didn't know how I wanted to put them together. I didn't like how the original pattern was and I was stuck!

I took this class from Pam and Jan themselves! They were here for Quilt Market when it was in Salt Lake City that spring. They are the owners and designers of Buggy Barn. They are a lot of fun!

Well some dark plummy/purple fabric came in and I instantly fell in love. Whats a gal gonna do but get an obscene amount of it??? AND it goes with these blocks -- even better! I was so happy, I had tears of joy streaming down my face. I think that I will keep this quilt after all! Wasn't too sure before .... in the block only stage, but now......... I can't wait to have it quilted. Of course I don't know how I want it quilted yet -- that's their (the quilters) job to decide that. Guess I had better figure out a back.

Have a Great Day!
Back to BINDING BINDING BINDING!!!!

Holy Stitches

This year for my ward quilting project we are making a sampler quilt -- Jewelry Box. I am using the same background fabric thoughout the entire quilt and then using rich jewel tones in the blocks. It's not at all what the majority of the ladies like -- country colors -- but they are doing it. It gets them out of their comfort zone. Here is
just a couple of pictures of the ladies sewing. I have taken the blocks from a free block of the
month site (tba at the end of the year). I plan on changing the way it gets finished from the original version. Still need to take pictures of the blocks themselves so you all can follow along, 4 done, 8 more to go.

It is really fun to see the different types of sewing machines. I have learned alot about all of them, because I tend to be the fixer-upper when the ladies have issues. I really should start bringing a small tool box everytime.

Be on the lookout for the pics of the blocks in the future.

Makin'

My little trouble maker -- the Maker. He has always liked helping me to cook bake whatever. If I am not makin anything and he's in the mood, he "makes" all by hisself. Normally its not so clean and I am not so happy. He made us "allbutt" soup. How nice of him. He was hungry and I wasn't home yet. For those of you that don't speak 4 year old speak, it translates into alphabet soup. I love the things little kids do ---- well when he isn't being destructive in any way shape or form. I do more dishes with him around than one person should ever have to do. When I do cook or go to make something, I normally have to go on a hunt for the needed tool, pot or pan and then wash everything before I can even start. So do I enjoy cooking/baking at the moment???? NO! I sure hope that one of these days soon, he will stop playing with my clean kitchen
tools.

binding, binding, binding.....

I got Konda's quilt done for her -- in the nick of time. Can't wait for the book to come out so that you can see it. All 44 blocks got done for the round robin, with minutes to spare. Several quilts have been quilted so now I am turning into a binding fool! It takes me FOREVER to hand sew bindings on. I guess its the perfectionist in me. I want the backs to look just as good as the fronts. That was how I was taught and that is what I strive for. No I will never be a "master" piecer/quilter/seamstress, but it will be pretty dang near close. I know, arrogant sounding, no, just confident in my abilities.

Lets Play a Game

Wanna play with me???? The game is lets see how many ways I have offended you, are offending you or will offend you??? Just beacuse I am blunt and to the point with lack of tack I tend to offend people without even trying. Go Figure???? The latest, I was trying to pay a compliment and let this gal know that we miss seeing her and the creative process; and also from a consumer view point, something that is being done, is "bloomin" annoying because it is confusing to the customer. Well needless to say I have a size 9 foot and a size 39 mouth.

So lets start......

  1. Bad Breath.
  2. Did I take a shower today or put on deodorant?
  3. Just being here.
  4. Looking at someone - the wrong way. I only have one look-- deal with it.
  5. Wearing the wrong article of clothing.
  6. Standing up for the customer.
  7. Not letting people take advantage of me or others that I care deeply for.
  8. Telling someone that they need to redo a task.
  9. Disciplining my children when they break the rules.
  10. Expecting my children to follow the rules and do chores! I know! Can you imagine? that they should obey rules and learn how to work???? I should be put away for child abuse!
  11. Stating my opinion -- which really should be #1!
  12. Getting after children when they are completely out of control because their mothers won't take care of them themself. Bummer! I am NOT your NANNY! If you can't control them in public, maybe they should stay home or you should do it yourself! I have my own children to try to teach to be well behaved in public.
  13. Expecting a quilter to do the job correctly and if she doesn't, to redo it! (there's one in particular, we will never be friends -- because I am not a "quilter"??). So sad :( NOT!
  14. Not being friendly ENOUGH on the phone. Give me a break!
  15. Not being helpful enough. I do not get paid enough by any one to kiss A! Helpful yes, but to bend over backwards - NO.
  16. Pronouncing your wierd spelled name incorrectly. I am pretty sure that I am not the only one. Go get a name change!
  17. Butting in on a conversation. yeah I know, it's one of many of my faults.
I could go on and on. Some of the ones stated are "generals", if I went into detail on them, they would have several episodes - so I won't. If you are full of crap, it's pretty much a given that I will tell you, you are full of crap (will probably do a little bit of farm cussing, but you get the general idea).

So the question now is, How many of you did I offend because of this??

What I should be doing.......

A friend of mine does patterns for quilts and she has people she knows help her out in the making process -- and proof reading. Like we have to read too????? Anyways........ I have helped in two of the four books so far (Konda Luckau -- Moose on the Porch is her business name, Moosequilts.com and Moosequilts.blogspot.com for the fun stuff) back to the story, her new book has APPLIQUE in it. I am so not a fan. So as you can imagine, I wasn't willing to help out to quick with this book. I have soooo many other things that I NEED to do and a gazillion times more of things that I would like to do. Time goes by and she came into the store with her folder, this was after the Bryce Retreat and she had one more that needed to be done. I asked to see it and read the directions for the most part -- I know no one will ever believe this of me, but I caved like a big ole sink hole. Asked her what she had in mind for flavors of fabric and she told me "GOOD FUN FABRIC" :) lol She picked out fabric and I brought it home. Keep in mind that I have the blue and white quilt to finish so that it can be displayed, the kits and sample for my Holy Stitches group need to be done and of course there is Thimbleberries. Then theres the star blocks - 22 of them with the companion "stripe" blocks, 22 of these also to be done here shortly. And just for grins can I substitute teach for the class next saturday??? -- and these are just the TOP 5!

I finally got the blue and white top and back done and sent off to the quilters without taking a picture. Sorry. Ironed all the fabric for the saturday class, Kondas project, the stars and stripes and a scrap project that will be for the store. Class sample made and taught. Thimbleberries will just have to wait just a little longer. In the meantime, I have added a quilt to bind for the store in the midst of all of this. Konda keeps coming into the store for some small reason or another. I think she is just checking up on me! However, she is seeing the progress that I am making. All the squares are cut, leaves are done. I just need to do the "vrrt" sound affect there cutting of the dark pink fabrics and to cut the yellow circles. Then we get talking "BLOG"! I made some smartalic comment about going home and checking out the new blogs and putting all of my sewing on hold. She had the gall to tell me - like I was a bad child- that I couldn't check them out UNTIL I have her top done!!!!! (said with a smile) Can you believe it???? After all, she does have a dead line coming up soon. So after work, I was a good doobee and went home and finished cutting the "vrrtt's" and the circles for hers and all the pieces for my stars, dinner, kids in bed and asleep and the sand man starts to talk to me. Not much sewing gonna get done -- okay none at all last night.

Today I wake up, timechange, church, brain pain -- I could sew on all these things -- but that would be WORK! and on the Lord's day?? I think not -- especially when the lesson in church was to not "work" on the sabbath and see all the things that get accomplished and how much happier you are and the precious time spent with your kids making memories with them when you keep his commandments. Guess I had better learn that lesson and quick! (didn't do well with the first 2 children, maybe I can due better with the last 2) So NO SEWING!!! :( (and yes this just about killed me!) So does that mean I can BLOG??? ;) YESSSSS!!!!
In other words, I will get ALL of the 22 stars and 22 stripe blocks done for this friday, my sample and 15 kits will be done for tuesday night for my Holy Stitches group, the binding will be sewn on by machine, Thimbleberries will be worked on AND Kondas top will get finished! Just have to have faith!

Does anyone ever wonder why I am "Oh Sew Crazee"?? You should see my sewing room.....then theres the fabric room..................

bloomin migraines!

I can say I truly HATE Migraines!!! In any way shape or form that they come in. I will go for a while and not have any, then boom I start getting "mild" ones. Out of the blue one of my mis-guided ones happens where my right arm shakes for 4-5 hours. Then a week or so later, yesterday, I got a monsterous one. Now I have a doozzy of a migraine hangover. They hurt just as bad but in a different way. Some one please just take me out back and shot me. JK If you don't get them, you won't understand, but if you do, you know of my pain. And it was so nice of me to share with my two older kids. My older son has been getting them for quite a while now, and he gets the monsterous ones. A year ago, my oldest daugher basically lost her eye sight. She goes to the eye doc and he tells her that it was a migraine -- yup, she loses her vision for a couple of hours -- nice huh? So between the three of us, we make quite the picture, tossing cookies, blind as a bat and shaking up a storm. Enough of my whinning for the moment. Someone please make them stop!

Ruby's Inn Retreat

Last Tuesday-- we need to decide what to take and pack whatever we are taking down to Ruby's Inn for a quilt retreat. We will be down there for 3 1/2 days. What to take, what to take??? It is a HUGE guessing game every time, and every time, it's different. Before it just used to be Machelle stressing over this. Now I have been added into this decision process. Shes sharing, so nice of her. I guess if I am going to claim to be the "bossy one" I had better help in the process. HHHMMMMM..... I had better keep my mouth shut! Like that will ever happen......
We're down there in the middle of nowhere with about 250ish other quilters. There are classes, lectures, trunk shows, the vendors mall and of course we get fed - well. So much for me losing weight, I gained it ALL back and then some. This is just a little bit of our adventures. I could go on and on and on and..................

This huge mess is Machelle and I getting ready to go on a quilting retreat where they have a vendor mall; and we are one of the vendors.

This is looking into the back of the burb. Ya. Its FULL! Just barely enough room for us. Reminds me of a jack in the box. Becareful opening up the doors -- everything might jump out at you.

Here we are (well actually I am taking a break and sneaking pics) setting up our both. If you could see Machelles face, she has this "how are we going to set this up" perplexed look on her face. At times its best to just sit back and take a break while things are being figured out, otherwise she turns into ME! Not a pretty picture.

DONE! What do you think? Just Beautiful! Brings tears to my eyes.

This is Susan. She is one of our "quilting sisters" (just a really good friend that we both have made thru quilting).

Happy Birthday Bonnie! Shes in the black shirt. Fran the crazy one in the crazy shirt and wearing glasses, well she got all of us and I mean whomever was in this very large room to sing to Bonnie. My camera is being wierd, so the pic is somewhat blurry. No it's not your eyes. You don't need a checkup. Anyways, Bonnie took it really well and didn't turn to deep of a red color and hide in her room for the rest of the retreat.

Nother BAD pic -- SORRY! Need to figure out what is going on.....

Here Konda Luckau is one of the teachers and she is doing a trunk show little lecture. She is one of our local gals. If you can see thru the blur for those that live here, thats Roberta on the left and Francine in the middle, they are being the quilt holders -- and a mighty fine job that they did.

Back to the bad pics -- I have a really cut pic of Machelle and Linda sitting together, not far apart --- but the camera issue........ggrrrrr makes me frustrated. Any ways, we are all sitting around enjoying the lecture/trunk shows from the different teacher/quilters. Then there is Dana and Carma standing up in the very back at Lazy Daisy Cottage from St. George. Characters those girls are -- the "CONFIDENCE" that ooozzes from Dana is AMAZING!

These 3 cute gals are Lynette (middle), Wendy (rite) and Saraih (spelling is questionable to me??? on the left) they co-own Main Street Quilts in Hurricane. Just opened up Nov/Dec of 08. Fun fun fun. Can't wait to visit with them some more at the state quilt fest. They each had lots of nifty thrifty ideas for us. Can't wait to try some of the out in Machelles store.

Such a sad sad day. All packed and ready to come home. Yes we sold A LOT and we are just as packed as when we went down. Explain that to me????

This is the front of Ruby's Inn at the mouth of Bryce Canyon. Such a fun place to go.

If you look thru the dirty streaks on the front window you can see that we drive thru these holes in the rock in Red Rock Canyon. There are two of them. Just kinda fun.

Machelle got tired of me taking pictures out the dirty windows and pulled over so that I could take a few. We had to stop someplace on the way home so that we could wash off the salt and guck that accumulated on the way down.
I am truly amazed every time that I see what the good Lord has created.

That was just a few of the highlights from this retreat.
Better get back to business. I have that blue and white top to finish sewing together. Have you ever wondered why I am Sew Crazee??????

Current Store display

This pile of confusion are several of my projects for the store, but the one that is taking over in first place is the blue/white one. You can kind of see what I am doing if you look really close to the magazine that is underneath the fabric. Its in red and white.
I am a huge fan of chain piecing. Sometimes the piles get to large behind the machine they get pushed off the table to the floor. It's almost easier to go the other side and clip the threads between each piece, then to try to pull them up back up and over.
I read somewhere, from a quilter, that she has a complete different project that is all cut and ready to sew and she uses that as her leaders and enders. What a novel idea!!!! And Why didn't I think of it?????? So now I try to do that. Do you know how much thread you waste by using scraps??? Well I don't know either, but its a lot. So now I have a complete different project that isn't a hurry or a deep thinking one that can just mosey along at a slow pace to get done.
Here I am making a bazillion flying geese, or so it seems. The throw away tips are big enough that I always draw two lines for sewing. I sew on both of them before I trim away the throw away parts. No I don't throw them away. Are you kidding me? I have to much of the Rodeback side in me to just toss away good fabric!!!! Yes I keep them, they are HST's. Do you know how many of these that I have?? Well I don't know either, but one of these days, I will get them all out and make a VERY scrappy quilt of just HST's!
So what is WRONG with this picture? As the day went on, apparently so did I. Can you say flu? When I noticed this little woops, I decided that I really was getting sick and that I had better take something and go to bed.....for a week! Holy cow! And this is how my sewing room sat for a good week. It was soo sad that I had not even gone down to visit it for the least tiny bit. My children didn't even go down to watch my tv. Will wonders never cease?

First Dentist visit

Better late than never. We finally had our first dentist visit. The hygentisit was really good. She was showing my little man how everything worked and even let him do the sucking and squirting in the cup. He was having a little too much fun with the squirting part though and didn't want to quit. Wasn't too sure about laying down.

They have some awesome looking shades to put on the kids so that the light doesn't bother their eyes to much. Also they can see the tv better. Yeah its on the ceiling. Kinda cool! First time with the flouride. Pretty sure he wasn't liking it so well. But he made it thru without any stress! Big relief for me. Now Ky's turn...........

Ky's laying back just chilling why she's having flouride. Such a tasty ordeal!!!! Dr. Austin is right in there holding the mirror for her so that she can see what is going on. "Hey is that thing sucking?"
All in all, everything went well. Suprisingly NO cavities for either of them!!!!! Yup, a trip to the icecream store was in order! :) Happy Smiles for every one!!!

The Sister quilt

This is a quilt top that I put together for my dear MIL. The 9 blocks are from the lovely ladies that she served with on her mission. Someone had a grand idea that all 9 of them make a quilt block -- of somekind. Then they could put it together however they wanted so that they all could have their own memory quilt. Well thats fine if you quilt!!!! These particular blocks sat in the cupboard for a long while. Mom doesn't "quilt". She "ties" quilts. I finally talked her into giving me the blocks so that they could be made into something lovely -- or at least I hope so. She LOVES dusty pink and blue. Does it show??? ;) I still need to put on the binding, a dark dusty pink, and wala' it will be done. Wish I could be a fly on the wall when she shows it off at her reunion with these lovely ladies.

This is a close up of moms block.

This block was hand pieced. Unfortunately not very well. I had to re-sew quite a bit of it. So when it was quilted, I had her quilt over it really well ---- just in case........

A close up of some of the quilting. My friend that did the quilting called me up and asked me "do I do ANYTHING normal?????" These particular blocks are 18ish" big. Lets just say I like to challenge her quilting abilities. ;) It helps her grow.
