Well, remember all of the quilts that I had quilted and they all need binding sewn on, well I am STILL doing them! It's a never ending CHORE for me. It can put me right to sleep! and I won't even mention the whole butt numbing process......
However, I HAD to take a break and put this quilt top together. I started it 3 years ago! I know, shameful! I have had the blocks all made for quite some time -- just didn't know how I wanted to put them together. I didn't like how the original pattern was and I was stuck!
I took this class from Pam and Jan themselves! They were here for Quilt Market when it was in Salt Lake City that spring. They are the owners and designers of Buggy Barn. They are a lot of fun!
Well some dark plummy/purple fabric came in and I instantly fell in love. Whats a gal gonna do but get an obscene amount of it??? AND it goes with these blocks -- even better! I was so happy, I had tears of joy streaming down my face. I think that I will keep this quilt after all! Wasn't too sure before .... in the block only stage, but now......... I can't wait to have it quilted. Of course I don't know how I want it quilted yet -- that's their (the quilters) job to decide that. Guess I had better figure out a back.
Have a Great Day!

Holy Stitches
This year for my ward quilting project we are making a sampler quilt -- Jewelry Box. I am using the same background fabric thoughout the entire quilt and then using rich jewel tones in the blocks. It's not at all what the majority of the ladies like -- country colors -- but they are doing it. It gets them out of their comfort zone. Here is
just a couple of pictures of the ladies sewing. I have taken the blocks from a free block of the
month site (tba at the end of the year). I plan on changing the way it gets finished from the original version. Still need to take pictures of the blocks themselves so you all can follow along, 4 done, 8 more to go.
It is really fun to see the different types of sewing machines. I have learned alot about all of them, because I tend to be the fixer-upper when the ladies have issues. I really should start bringing a small tool box everytime.
Be on the lookout for the pics of the blocks in the future.

Makin'
My little trouble maker -- the Maker. He has always liked helping me to cook bake whatever. If I am not makin anything and he's in the mood, he "makes" all by hisself. Normally its not so clean and I am not so happy. He made us "allbutt" soup. How nice of him. He was hungry and I wasn't home yet. For those of you that don't speak 4 year old speak, it translates into alphabet soup. I love the things little kids do ---- well when he isn't being destructive in any way shape or form. I do more dishes with him around than one person should ever have to do. When I do cook or go to make something, I normally have to go on a hunt for the needed tool, pot or pan and then wash everything before I can even start. So do I enjoy cooking/baking at the moment???? NO! I sure hope that one of these days soon, he will stop playing with my clean kitchen
tools.

binding, binding, binding.....
I got Konda's quilt done for her -- in the nick of time. Can't wait for the book to come out so that you can see it. All 44 blocks got done for the round robin, with minutes to spare. Several quilts have been quilted so now I am turning into a binding fool! It takes me FOREVER to hand sew bindings on. I guess its the perfectionist in me. I want the backs to look just as good as the fronts. That was how I was taught and that is what I strive for. No I will never be a "master" piecer/quilter/seamstress, but it will be pretty dang near close. I know, arrogant sounding, no, just confident in my abilities.
Lets Play a Game
Wanna play with me???? The game is lets see how many ways I have offended you, are offending you or will offend you??? Just beacuse I am blunt and to the point with lack of tack I tend to offend people without even trying. Go Figure???? The latest, I was trying to pay a compliment and let this gal know that we miss seeing her and the creative process; and also from a consumer view point, something that is being done, is "bloomin" annoying because it is confusing to the customer. Well needless to say I have a size 9 foot and a size 39 mouth.
So lets start......
So the question now is, How many of you did I offend because of this??
So lets start......
- Bad Breath.
- Did I take a shower today or put on deodorant?
- Just being here.
- Looking at someone - the wrong way. I only have one look-- deal with it.
- Wearing the wrong article of clothing.
- Standing up for the customer.
- Not letting people take advantage of me or others that I care deeply for.
- Telling someone that they need to redo a task.
- Disciplining my children when they break the rules.
- Expecting my children to follow the rules and do chores! I know! Can you imagine? that they should obey rules and learn how to work???? I should be put away for child abuse!
- Stating my opinion -- which really should be #1!
- Getting after children when they are completely out of control because their mothers won't take care of them themself. Bummer! I am NOT your NANNY! If you can't control them in public, maybe they should stay home or you should do it yourself! I have my own children to try to teach to be well behaved in public.
- Expecting a quilter to do the job correctly and if she doesn't, to redo it! (there's one in particular, we will never be friends -- because I am not a "quilter"??). So sad :( NOT!
- Not being friendly ENOUGH on the phone. Give me a break!
- Not being helpful enough. I do not get paid enough by any one to kiss A! Helpful yes, but to bend over backwards - NO.
- Pronouncing your wierd spelled name incorrectly. I am pretty sure that I am not the only one. Go get a name change!
- Butting in on a conversation. yeah I know, it's one of many of my faults.
So the question now is, How many of you did I offend because of this??
