The summer started out pretty good for my little Ky -- while it lasted!
She is now in a cast.
What??
How???
She was going down an enclosed spiral tube slide and where the pieces get put together, there is a place big enough to catch toes. Yeah OWWW!!! Well I wasn't too worried for several days -- broken toes, no big deal. Tape them up and wrap the foot to help protect it for a few days. Swollen and some beautiful color and keep the foot up and ice occasionally, I really am good with this. There isn't alot else that can be done differently for broken toes. It's shower time so I take the tape off, the swelling has gone down some and the color is up into her foot. hmmmm does it hurt here???? When she comes down off of the ceiling and can breathe again, I guess its off to the doctors office for an xray for her.
Ok the bad news is, we/the kids, ride horses ALOT during the summer - 4h don't cha know --
The doc comes back in the room and looks at the xray and says "well there's good news bad news. Hope you like boots?.?."
Can you make it in the shape of a cowboy boot??
The good news is that there is no obvious break or fracture. However, there are some lines that he isn't too sure about by the growth plates, and there is alot of fluid around the couple of toes that shouldn't be there. That means that something is not quite right and that it is more than just a sprain. So that means a Walking Cast! for a MONTH! The even better news is, she can take off her walking cast and put on her cowboy boots for riding only, well and showers. That news made her smile. If she couldn't ride her horse (aunt janets horse) I would probably have to have her medicated!!!!!!
